In this Antarctic summer of 2024/2025, LOA scientists are participating in Operation Antarctica 43. During the first and second phases, several simultaneous measurements of the ocean and atmosphere were conducted in the Brazil-Malvinas Confluence (BMC) region aboard the Polar Maximiano Ship (H-41). In the first phase, a sequence of oceanic vortices (meanders) was sampled, along with the oceanic front at the BMC. During the second phase, the team installed a micro-meteorological station on Penguin Island and deployed a buoy to collect data throughout the summer to estimate fluxes and momentum.
